I’m curious how much (assuming US), slams happen on the left, middle, or right of a path.
Pattern I’ve generally seen is:
- Those not following vehicle traffic conventions (those on the left) give way to those following traffic coventions (those walking on the right).
- If both are walking in the center, both shift to traffic convention.
- Exception is made for those that are motionally restricted (carrying a lot, wrangling children, old, handicapped, etc.)
- Those unencumbered and moving faster are expected to weave.
- Always avoid bicycles.
Both as a man and as a woman (I’m trans), I haven’t had a problem following these rules.
That said, I’m 5’11".
It might be a height thing, not a gender thing or convention thing.
